Escape Velocity

What does it take to reach escape velocity?

To leave behind the troubles and find refuge?

Is escape velocity fast, violent, relentless;
or is it a slow, gradual change?

Is it of process and evolution,
or simply adaptation?

Do you even know when you’ve reached escape velocity?

Or simply realize after you’ve arrived?

And how do you break your fall once
you’ve descended back down to Earth?
